About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform legal research and provide advice on complex legal matters to various agency divisions
- Assist with litigation, subpoenas, discovery requests, and document retention
- Advise on Procurement Policy Board rules and government contract rules
- Draft and review complex RFPs, contracts, and agency agreements
- Draft legislation and review proposed legislation
- Review reports and recommendations in prevailing wage cases
- Assist with complex Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) matters
- Address compliance and risk issues and develop agency policy
- Handle matters relating to New York civil service law and conflicts of interest
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Four years of recent full-time relevant legal experience
- Eighteen months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity or performing highly complex legal work
- Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing
