Assistant General Counsel, Global Operations - Construction and Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Lead legal support for large-scale design, construction, expansion, and infrastructure projects across manufacturing and industrial facilities
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex project documents including EPC, design-build, CM/GC, and GMP contracts
• Advise project teams on legal and commercial risks such as scope, schedule, force majeure, liquidated damages, and indemnity
• Support the resolution of active project issues including claims, defaults, change disputes, and lien matters
• Partner cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, finance, and operations to protect company objectives
• Manage and coordinate outside counsel for specialized construction, regulatory, and environmental matters
• Deliver practical training and legal mentorship to business teams to improve contract rigor and execution

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 8–12+ years of relevant legal experience, specifically in construction, infrastructure, or large capital projects
• Substantial experience drafting and negotiating complex construction and development agreements
• Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, data center, or industrial facilities
• Familiarity with land use, permitting, utilities, or energy interface issues related to major project development

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong project-management capability with the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously
• Experience managing construction claims and pre-dispute strategy
• Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for using AI tools to improve legal process efficiency
