Assistant Football Coach

Responsibilities

• Provide skill instruction and conditioning work consistent with a high-performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program
• Recruit and retain highly talented athletes who possess the academic acumen to thrive at Southwestern University
• Assist in the planning, instruction, and operation of the football program
• Participate in fundraising activities to support program objectives
• Ensure compliance with all university, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and bylaws
• Serve as a mentor to student-athletes by modeling professionalism and high moral standards
• Support academic excellence by utilizing available university resources to assist students
• Serve as an Administrator in Charge (AIC) for select events and participate in campus committees as requested

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Proven coaching experience with the ability to demonstrate proper sport-specific techniques
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to become certified within three months of hire)
• Knowledge of, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and campus diversity

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate or professional playing experience in football
• Experience in recruiting college-level varsity athletes
