Assistant Football Coach/Defensive Assistant

Responsibilities

• Coordinate practice planning and position meetings for defensive positions
• Conduct individual and small group coaching sessions and film sessions
• Manage game day meetings, coaching, and post-game debriefs
• Assist in the breakdown and distribution of practice and game film
• Support team events through social media, logistics, and operations
• Leverage Teamworks software to coordinate prospective student-athlete recruitment
• Conduct on and off-campus recruitment via mailings, phone calls, and visits
• Collaborate with the admissions office and head coach to ensure recruitment follows institutional best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to demonstrate football-related skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students, staff, alumni, and friends of the University
• Ability to work nights and weekends to support practices, games, and recruiting events

Preferred Qualifications

• Intercollegiate playing experience
