Assistant Engineer- Structures

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of structural engineering projects through detailed design, technical calculations, and modeling.
• Organize and carry out detailed design to WSP and Building Regulations standards, including complex calculations and coordination.
• Undertake technical calculations to industry standards and supervise delegated work to ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare elemental work for project budget costing as delegated by senior team members.
• Manage day-to-day queries from the WSP USA Team to ensure information is available for construction activities.
• Determine appropriate software for Computer Aided Design, construct models, and perform manual checks.
• Follow document control and QA processes to ensure all drawings, specifications, and reports are correctly filed and archived.

Requirements

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering and M.Tech in Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency in structural software including ADAPT, ETABS, SAP2000, and Enercalc.
• Experience in Revit drafting and modeling for building structures.
• Strong technical knowledge in Reinforced Concrete, Steel, PT, and Wood designs.
• Proven experience in the analysis and design of mid to high-rise building structures.
• Experience handling projects in high seismic zones (US West Coast project experience preferred).
• Coding skills in Python or VBA to automate day-to-day tasks and develop spreadsheets.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in a US state or British Chartered Engineer status (or progress toward obtaining these).
