Assistant Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and systems faults across vehicle subsystems
• Conduct repairs including disassembly, replacement, and rework of pressure hulls, thrusters, PCBs, and wire harnesses
• Verify repaired assemblies through functional testing, environmental testing, and sea trials
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring faults and document corrective actions
• Provide on-call technical support and remote triage to field operators
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide field feedback and improve design-for-maintainability
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, fault logs, and service guides

Requirements

• Diploma or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a relevant field
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience in technical maintenance, field engineering, or systems integration
• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and bench power supplies
• Ability to navigate software logs, use SSH/CLI tools, and perform firmware updates
• Strong hands-on skills in electronics assembly, soldering, crimping, and wire harnessing
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
• Experience with marine or robotics systems is a strong plus
• ROS/ROS2 experience is advantageous
