About the Company

The Nassau County District Attorney's Office investigates and prosecutes violations of state and local criminal statutes occurring within Nassau County. With nearly 230 attorneys and a total staff in excess of 450, the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office is one of the largest district attorney's offices in the country.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all phases of criminal prosecution, from investigation through trial
• Prepare and file accusatory instruments, handle discovery, and write/respond to motions
• Interview victims, witnesses, financial professionals, and law enforcement personnel
• Conduct grand jury presentations, hearings, and trials
• Evaluate cases to formulate and negotiate appropriate dispositions
• Conference cases with defense counsel and judges
• Investigate cases using subpoenas and court orders
• Review financial records, banking documents, tax returns, and digital evidence
• Collaborate with forensic accountants and local, state, and federal law enforcement partners

Requirements

• Admitted to the practice of law in NYS in good standing
• Resident of New York State
• At least five years of experience in criminal investigation and prosecution
• Significant long-term investigations experience
• Grand jury and felony jury trial experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities
• Ability to make a two-year employment commitment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience drafting eavesdropping and search warrants
