Assistant District Attorney

Responsibilities

• Train newly hired and promoted Assistant District Attorneys and legal writers in case processing and courtroom practices
• Supervise daily operations of the Complaint Room, DAT Unit, and Arraignment parts
• Review legal issues regarding arrest matters and make prosecution decisions based on case facts and law
• Examine accusatory instruments for accuracy and proper charging
• Handle inquiries from law enforcement, defense attorneys, and the general public
• Supervise arraignment parts and address complex matters in court
• Serve as the BXDA liaison with Corporation Counsel regarding juvenile matters
• Work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree
• Admission to the New York State Bar
• US Citizenship and New York State Residency
• Ability to work and supervise others in remote settings
• Excellent computer skills and analytical problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of trial experience
• Prior management experience
• 18 months of experience in training or lecturing
