About the role
Responsibilities
- Train newly hired and promoted Assistant District Attorneys and legal writers in case processing and courtroom practices
- Supervise daily operations of the Complaint Room, DAT Unit, and Arraignment parts
- Review legal issues regarding arrest matters and make prosecution decisions based on case facts and law
- Examine accusatory instruments for accuracy and proper charging
- Handle inquiries from law enforcement, defense attorneys, and the general public
- Supervise arraignment parts and address complex matters in court
- Serve as the BXDA liaison with Corporation Counsel regarding juvenile matters
- Work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- US Citizenship and New York State Residency
- Ability to work and supervise others in remote settings
- Excellent computer skills and analytical problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of trial experience
- Prior management experience
- 18 months of experience in training or lecturing
