About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate innovative evidence-based prevention education programs focused on affirmative consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention.
  • Lead the facilitation of trauma-informed, equity-centered workshops and dialogues to promote institutional culture change and community accountability.
  • Develop and implement strategic culture change initiatives aligned with university values and public health frameworks.
  • Manage the Peer Educator program, including interviewing, selection, and training.
  • Coordinate campus-wide awareness events, such as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Relationship Violence Awareness Month.
  • Collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to assess emerging needs and strengthen prevention messaging.
  • Maintain accurate statistical data and assist in data collection for grant compliance and institutional assessment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of four years of closely related experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in violence prevention or related fields.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing prevention programs for young adults and diverse communities.
  • Specialized training in sexual assault and intimate partner violence prevention.
  • Extensive experience in designing, facilitating, and evaluating workshops and large-group presentations.
  • Strong commitment to social justice and experience working with survivors of power- and gender-based violence.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or advanced degree in public health, education, sociology, psychology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience providing prevention education specifically within a college or university setting.
  • Proficiency in curriculum design and creating visual presentation tools.
  • Familiarity with NYS Enough Is Enough legislation and Rape Crisis Program (RCP) certification standards.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, and Campus SaVE Act regulations.
