About the role

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, supervise, and mentor a diverse team of student interns to foster leadership and professional growth.
  • Oversee key sustainability initiatives including the Free Store, Green Bikes Program, and campus waste reduction efforts.
  • Develop and implement programs that advance institutional priorities such as carbon neutrality, climate resilience, and waste minimization.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional sustainability data, including annual greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories.
  • Manage communications and outreach for the Office of Sustainability and Environmental Studies program via newsletters, websites, and social media.
  • Coordinate community engagement and event planning to support the Environmental Studies Program and foster a connected academic environment.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate academic content with hands-on, experiential sustainability learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in sustainability or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability planning, greenhouse gas accounting, and climate action strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, delegate effectively, and mentor student leaders.
  • Strong research, analytical, and data assessment skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with design and communications platforms such as Canva.
