About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Manager, overseeing the review, approval, and monitoring of IRB regulations and protocols across all campuses.
  • Manage the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), including protocol pre-review, meeting coordination, and regulatory reporting to agencies such as OLAW and USDA.
  • Oversee animal research compliance, facility operations, inspections, and training programs in collaboration with the Attending Veterinarian.
  • Provide guidance, training, and regulatory interpretation to faculty, staff, and IRB members regarding human subjects protections.
  • Conduct internal and external audits of IRB protocols and Principal Investigators.
  • Manage administrative pre-award processes for sponsored contracts, including budget review and compliance verification.
  • Supervise and support Animal Facility staff and maintain databases for protocols, animal use, and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with IRB.
  • One (1) year of work experience in animal care and facilities.
  • Experience in laboratory animal facilities management.
  • Experience working with data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified IRB Professional (CIP).
  • Certified Lab Animal Technician (LAT) or (ALAT) from AALAS.
  • Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA).
  • Experience working directly with faculty and students in a university setting.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
