Assistant Director, Planning and Continuity

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level oversight for undergraduate academic year and summer housing assignments for approximately 6,200 residents.
• Lead strategic planning, risk mitigation, and business continuity efforts to ensure operational resilience during peak periods.
• Manage the Housing Assignments Roadmap, documenting critical processes, timelines, and decision points.
• Oversee departmental documentation and the housing services intranet to ensure all policies and workflows are current and accessible.
• Directly supervise the Associate Manager of Housing Services and provide oversight for administrative hiring processes for casual and temporary staff.
• Partner with campus stakeholders including Residential Life, Dining, Facilities, and Public Safety to align assignment decisions with student experience goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4–6 years of progressively responsible experience in housing, student services, or a complex administrative environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in housing assignments, allocations, or large-scale administrative planning.
• Proven experience supervising staff and providing strategic direction.
• Proficiency with housing management systems and administrative tools such as StarRez and Asana.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and process-planning skills.
• Ability to work on-site during peak periods, emergencies, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
