About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support for HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Painting, and Maintenance shops
- Schedule and assign employees to various maintenance, repair, and renovation projects
- Coordinate maintenance and renovation activities, working with subordinates and external contractors
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and campus grounds for hazards and violations of safety codes and regulations
- Maintain accurate work records through the current work order program
- Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance programs in collaboration with the Director
- Supervise unionized staff, including interviewing, training, and performance appraisals
- Serve as a liaison to the Town of Easton and remain available for after-hours emergency calls
Requirements
- Associate’s degree from a two or four-year college or university, or 10 years of related experience
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License (unrestricted)
- Proficiency in MS Office and work order software
- Valid driver’s license and ability to use a personal vehicle for campus-related transportation
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Carpentry
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of recent professional experience in a higher education work environment
- Hands-on experience in building maintenance, repair, assembly, and troubleshooting
- Strong competency in grounds maintenance and light construction
