Assistant Director of Security

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing and supervising the security unit in accordance with standing orders
• Supervise security staff, approve weekly timesheets, and evaluate performance in the Director's absence
• Escort Assistant District Attorneys and witnesses to and from court
• Coordinate with Human Resources to post job openings and conduct interviews for security roles
• Assist in preparing the unit's daily work schedule
• Coordinate operations with the police department and other law enforcement agencies
• Work on special projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Seven or more years of security experience with at least three years in a supervisory position
• Valid certificate of completion from New York State Basic Course for Police officer’s academy
• Firearms qualification
• Four years of full-time, paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work, including two years in rackets or police investigative work
• Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity working alongside contracted security officers
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
