Assistant Director of Residence Life for Housing Operations

Responsibilities

• Manage the StarRez housing management database, including data organization, occupancy tracking, and reporting.
• Oversee occupancy management, including room selection, housing assignments, and the room change process.
• Coordinate with IT, Dining Services, and the Cashier’s Office to ensure accurate billing and data synchronization via the Banner ERP system.
• Supervise, train, and schedule student staff and manage front desk operations.
• Support housing operations including move-in/move-out processes, access control, and key management.
• Manage administrative tasks such as meal plan changes, vandalism response, and damage billing.
• Participate in a tiered on-call rotation to provide crisis management and residential support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 or more years of experience in Residence Life, higher education, or a related field.
• Proficiency in configuring and using residence life software systems and strong technical aptitude.
• Experience supervising staff, particularly student employees.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in-person on campus and participate in an on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education or a related field.
• Direct experience with StarRez and Banner software systems.
• Experience in occupancy management and housing operations.
• Skills in web development (HTML) and marketing material creation (graphic design, social media, video).
• Proven ability to work autonomously and evaluate processes for efficiency.
