About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive career advising to students pursuing public interest and government legal careers, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and long-term career planning.
  • Serve as the primary advisor for judicial co-ops and post-graduate judicial clerkships, guiding students through the application and acceptance processes.
  • Conduct strategic outreach to judges, alumni, and legal employers to expand judicial clerkship and co-op opportunities.
  • Design and deliver year-round programming and communications regarding judicial hiring trends and public interest career paths.
  • Collaborate with the faculty-led Clerkship Committee to advance the law school's clerkship goals and provide updates on hiring cycles.
  • Support student networking and employer engagement through occasional evening and weekend events.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree and at least 3 years of legal work experience.
  • Professional experience in public interest, government, or judicial settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong technological proficiency and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for student and employer events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-graduate judicial clerkship experience.
  • Experience in career counseling, student advising, mentoring, or student services.
