Assistant Director of Institutional Research

Responsibilities

• Assist with recurring internal reports, including enrollment, retention, and course summaries
• Support the preparation and submission of external reports and surveys such as IPEDS and state reporting
• Provide data and reporting support to academic and administrative units for assessment and program review
• Maintain and update institutional dashboards and data tools, including documentation and visualizations
• Conduct ad hoc queries and descriptive analyses to inform operational and student success initiatives
• Assist with the design, administration, and analysis of campus surveys for students, alumni, faculty, and staff
• Contribute to data quality checks, documentation, and data governance processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education, social sciences, business, mathematics, statistics, or data analytics)
• Professional experience working with data in a professional, internship, or graduate assistantship context
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Clear written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain findings to non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive or confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with a student information system or administrative databases in higher education
• Familiarity with query or reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access, Argos, Tableau, or Power BI
• Exposure to institutional research, assessment, accreditation, or program evaluation in a college setting
