Assistant Director of Fitness

Responsibilities

• Oversee the organization and administration of fitness and wellness programs, including group instruction and personal training
• Supervise and support the professional development of two full-time coordinators and 15-20 student fitness supervisors
• Develop innovative programming and operational strategies to engage students in physical wellbeing
• Collaborate with campus partners, such as the Student Health Center and Disability Services, to expand fitness opportunities
• Manage human and fiscal resources to ensure high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement
• Provide direct student support and advocacy regarding fitness-related programming

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, or a related field
• 3 years of full-time experience in health education, fitness programming, and wellness delivery
• Ability to obtain American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Instructor Certification within 90 days of hire
• Willingness to work evening and weekend hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related health or exercise science field
• 5+ years of experience in health education and fitness program management
• NCCA-accredited personal training or group instruction certification (e.g., ACSM, ACE, NASM, or IFPA)
