Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized financial aid counseling to prospective and enrolled students and their families via in-person, phone, and virtual appointments.
• Manage a financial aid application caseload, including reviewing applications, performing verification, and providing early estimates.
• Process and review outside scholarship applications.
• Represent Student Financial Services at admission information sessions and various college events.
• Serve as the "counselor of the day" to handle walk-in appointments and office email inquiries.
• Communicate complex information regarding college financing, affordability, and net price with empathy and clarity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial aid rules and regulations.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and maintain high customer service standards under pressure.
• A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a college or university setting, specifically within student services.
