Assistant Director of Finance

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and finance duties, including food and beverage operations
• Manage full-cycle month-end close, financial statement preparation, and complex reconciliations
• Develop and document system controls, standard operating procedures, and business process improvements
• Support implementation and upgrades of front-of-house systems
• Assist the Director of Finance with recruiting, hiring, and training the accounting team
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff through performance evaluations and professional development
• Manage payroll entries and coordinate with HR and payroll providers
• Monitor budget compliance and support cost control measures
• Ensure compliance with legal, treasury, tax, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum five years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• At least two years of experience in a hotel or hospitality setting
• One to two years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Strong understanding of hotel accounting principles and U.S. GAAP
• Proficiency in accounting and property management systems (e.g., Opera, SunSystems, M3, BirchStreet)
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CMA, or MBA
