About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration and stewardship of personalized donor engagement plans and impact reports.
  • Develop and implement behavior-based stewardship strategies for diverse donor segments, including leadership, first-time, and young alumni.
  • Coordinate logistical and programmatic aspects of donor events, such as scholarship luncheons and recognition programs.
  • Hire, train, and mentor student workers to support donor stewardship initiatives.
  • Utilize CRM and engagement platforms (e.g., Slate, Pledgemine, Thankview) to manage donor relationships and documentation.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, alumni engagement, and senior leadership to ensure donor intent is honored.
  • Represent Hope College at various donor events, which may include evening and weekend attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (fields such as education, hospitality, or communications preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in donor engagement, stewardship, event coordination, or data management.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in an office setting.
  • Proven experience developing data-driven strategies for segmented audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), Google Suite, and CRM or email marketing platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific platforms such as Raiser’s Edge, Slate, or MailChimp.
  • Background in higher education philanthropy or hospitality.
