Assistant Director of Clinical Support

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day responsibilities of Medical Assistants, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and workload to ensure maximum productivity and adherence to practice guidelines.
• Oversee clinical administration, including the development of Medical Assistant protocols, patient triage processes, and clinical supply inventory.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients, including health assessments, physical examinations, and administering medications and treatments.
• Perform telephone triage and respond to emergency situations using critical assessment skills.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of culturally inclusive and effective patient care.

Requirements

• BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Current New York State RN licensure.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• BLS and Infection Control Certificates.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff in a medical or closely related setting.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and patient scheduling systems.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in triage, emergency health care, or ambulatory care.
• Previous experience in a college health or community health setting.
• Experience managing union employees.
• Experience in patient teaching, health counseling, and health education.
