Assistant Director of Campus Visit

Responsibilities

• Manage various campus visit programs, including information sessions, tours, the Hofstra UpClose program, and group visits.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of new programming for first-year, transfer, and school counselor visits.
• Directly manage a graduate assistant and approximately 70 paid student employees, providing supervision, training, and mentorship.
• Develop relationships with campus partners to create memorable experiences for prospective students and their families.
• Serve as the primary liaison for on-campus programs, collaborating with faculty and administrators.
• Provide oversight for the Office of Undergraduate Admission’s reception area to ensure exceptional customer service.
• Assist with Overnight@Hofstra operations, including managing linen/key distribution and coordinating with custodial staff.
• Perform on-call duties and work some nights and weekends to support campus events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to live on campus full-time is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in higher education, admissions, campus visits, or event planning.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and problem-solve.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Familiarity with computerized admission systems such as Ellucian Banner and Slate.
• Working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs.
