About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of the College of Arts & Sciences dean's office, including human resources, compensation, payroll, and finance.
- Assist in the planning, development, and monitoring of budgets through analysis and forecasting.
- Act as a liaison between the CAS dean's office, the Office of the Provost, and the Office of Human Resources regarding faculty and staff compensation.
- Gather and analyze budgetary data and financial information to prepare reports and illustrate findings.
- Ensure all financial transactions are performed in accordance with established budgets and university policies.
- Resolve administrative and fiscal problems by identifying solutions and communicating them to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of personnel and compensation records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, management, finance, operations, management information systems, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience working in a business or budget office environment.
- Proven experience developing budgets and reconciling actual expenses to budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced knowledge of pivot tables, formulas, and charting.
- Experience using financial computer systems such as Banner and Cognos for reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a business-related field.
- Deep understanding of University of Dayton academic structures, procedures, and policies.
- Experience designing and delivering training curriculum for individuals or groups.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist educational values.
- Demonstrated ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
