Assistant Director of Basketball Operations

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of administrative, fiscal, planning, and staff support activities for the men’s basketball program
• Serve as a primary administrative point of contact for internal and external constituencies regarding complex and confidential issues
• Support the Director of Basketball Operations with all team travel arrangements and act as a liaison to visiting teams
• Coordinate team functions and community service projects
• Manage projects, meet deadlines, and handle emergencies or difficult situations as they arise
• Maintain a positive public relations image for the team and coaching staff

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or state-recognized equivalent
• Experience in basketball as a player, coach, team manager, graduate assistant, or intern at the college or high school level
• Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and legislation
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain eligibility under the University’s driving policy
• Ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in sports management or a related field
• Previous experience working within a college/university athletics department or a men’s basketball office
