About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead media contact for Gannon Athletics, promoting student-athletes, teams, and the University.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for digital content creation, including graphics, videos, and photography.
  • Manage written content such as game notes, news releases, and feature stories.
  • Oversee in-game management activities, including livestreaming, statistics, and photography.
  • Manage in-game sports information and elevate the brand of the department.
  • Collaborate with University Marketing, Communications, and Creative Services to maintain brand consistency.
  • Supervise full-time staff members and student workers.
  • Conduct media training with coaches and student-athletes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in collegiate or professional athletic media relations and content creation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and video editing software (Final Cut Pro).
  • Thorough knowledge of Statcrew and NCAA LiveStats statistical software.
  • Strong skills in digital media creation, including photography and videography.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for storytelling and media interaction.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and travel.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience designing and editing media guides or game programs.
  • Knowledge of NCAA, PSAC, and Title IX requirements.
