Assistant Director of Athletics, Development

About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a comprehensive athletics development program focusing on annual support, capital projects, and endowments
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 125-150 major and annual gift prospects
- Engage coaches and athletics department staff to identify, cultivate, and steward gift prospects
- Coordinate with University Advancement and athletics staff to plan cultivation events, such as golf tournaments and award dinners
- Develop team-oriented philanthropy challenges to increase participation among alumni, parents, and friends
- Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop collateral for print, electronic, and web solicitations
- Ensure all fundraising activities adhere to appropriate NCAA compliance regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of three years of successful fundraising experience
- Strong knowledge of, or interest in, collegiate athletics
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work strategically and manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in using technology to support development activities
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in athletics-specific development
