Assistant Director of Athletics, Development

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive athletics development program focusing on annual support, capital projects, and endowments
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 125-150 major and annual gift prospects
  • Engage coaches and athletics department staff to identify, cultivate, and steward gift prospects
  • Coordinate with University Advancement and athletics staff to plan cultivation events, such as golf tournaments and award dinners
  • Develop team-oriented philanthropy challenges to increase participation among alumni, parents, and friends
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop collateral for print, electronic, and web solicitations
  • Ensure all fundraising activities adhere to appropriate NCAA compliance regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three years of successful fundraising experience
  • Strong knowledge of, or interest in, collegiate athletics
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work strategically and manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using technology to support development activities
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in athletics-specific development
