Assistant Director of Athletic Equipment Services

Responsibilities

• Manage operational activities related to athletic equipment and uniforms
• Oversee budgeting, purchasing, payment authorization, and inventory management
• Supervise the Manager of Athletic Equipment Services, student, and casual employees
• Ensure reliable and timely delivery of laundry for 31 varsity programs
• Serve as the primary point of contact for apparel and equipment vendor partners
• Participate in the athletic department event operations committee
• Act as an advisor to the athletic department leadership team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
• 4-7 years of experience in retail or an athletic equipment room
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting/inventory software
• Strong understanding of budgeting and inventory procedures
• Knowledge of athletics and college sport seasons
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff and students

Preferred Qualifications

• Management and budgeting experience
• Experience working with students in a post-secondary or collegiate environment
• Knowledge of NCAA and NESCAC rules
• Athletic Equipment Managers’ Association (AEMA) certification
