Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Responsibilities

• File required game day statistics with the NCAA and USA South Conference
• Develop and strengthen local and regional sports media contacts through press releases and media requests
• Manage and update the athletics website (goavengingangels.com) with written and photographic content
• Maintain and expand the athletics social media presence to increase team visibility
• Enhance video content for distribution across the athletics website and social media platforms
• Coordinate game day event set-up, including student staff and physical equipment movement
• Support special athletic events such as the Halos Award ceremony and Meredith Golf Classic
• Develop pregame publicity materials, game day programs, and media guides

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in sports marketing, communication, or a related field
• Experience with PrestoSports and NCAA Live Stats software systems
• Experience working with content management systems (CMS)
• Superior organizational, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and perform light travel
• Valid NC Driver's License with a clear driving history

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in athletic communications
• Experience with video editing software
