About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the organization and administration of indoor and outdoor aquatic spaces, including the leisure river.
- Manage and train aquatic student supervisors, swim instructors, and one coordinator.
- Execute operational strategy for aquatic programming, including American Red Cross courses offered to the university community.
- Develop creative aquatic programming and enhance the curriculum for the swim school program.
- Manage expenditures related to aquatic programs and services.
- Ensure high-quality safety standards and administrative excellence across all aquatic operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 3 years of experience in an aquatic facility (or 1 year of experience with a Master’s degree).
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
- Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and background check (including fingerprinting).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Sport Management, Parks and Recreation, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience leading aquatics.
- Professional experience in collegiate recreation or managing large student staff (40-60 employees).
- American Red Cross Instructor Trainer for Lifeguards certification.
- Pool Operators Certification.
