Assistant Director, Modeling Services

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex training and projects involving catastrophe models and Moody's software, including SaaS applications on the Moody’s Intelligence Risk Platform.
• Help users derive maximum value from catastrophe modeling software by detailing methodologies, critical assumptions, and data sources.
• Guide users in preparing inputs for accurate results and explaining model settings for informed analytics.
• Demonstrate model outputs to help users operationalize results for insurance and reinsurance pricing and capital adequacy.
• Assist users in performing detailed model evaluations and act as a liaison with internal experts to justify model views of risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Climate Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Modeling Analyst or in a related position working with catastrophe models.
• Proven experience performing financial modeling using catastrophe modeling software.
• Experience conducting large-scale data analysis of catastrophe modeling exposure and results.
• Proficiency in data manipulation tools, specifically R and SQL.
• Proficiency in mapping software, including ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time.
