Assistant Director ISPL

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operational lead for the Institute for Security Policy and Law (SPL), translating strategic goals into actionable operational plans.
• Oversee the administration of signature academic certificate programs, including student onboarding, advising, and enrollment coordination.
• Manage day-to-day center operations, including financial processes, expense tracking, budgeting, and procurement.
• Lead the operational planning and execution of research programs, conferences, and center initiatives.
• Coordinate engagement with affiliated faculty, alumni, and external partners to support institutional objectives.
• Act as a primary operational liaison between the College of Law, Maxwell School, and other university units.
• Supervise student staff and manage internal partnerships to support fundraising and engagement strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, operations, or administrative leadership.
• Experience working within a higher education or research center environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with budgeting and financial processes.
• Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in higher education, public administration, or a related field.
• Experience with university administrative systems (e.g., MySlice, Degree Works).
• Demonstrated experience in data tracking, assessment methods, or program evaluation.
