Assistant Director ISPL

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operational lead for the Institute for Security Policy and Law (SPL), translating strategic goals into actionable plans and deliverables.
• Oversee the administration of signature academic certificate programs, including student onboarding, advising, and enrollment coordination.
• Manage day-to-day center operations, including financial processes, expense tracking, budgeting, and procurement.
• Lead the operational planning and execution of research programs, on-campus conferences, and off-site events.
• Act as a central liaison between the College of Law, Maxwell School, and other university units to ensure program alignment and efficiency.
• Drive alumni engagement efforts and maintain databases to support student employment and internship opportunities.
• Coordinate the hiring and supervision of student staff supporting institute activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, operations, or administrative leadership.
• Experience working within a higher education or research center environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience managing budgeting and financial processes.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in higher education, public administration, or a related field.
• Experience with university-specific systems such as MySlice or Degree Works.
• Demonstrated experience with data tracking, assessment methods, or program evaluation.
