About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement regional recruitment strategies, including college fairs and high school visits throughout NYS.
- Participate in the HEOP admissions process by reviewing applications and conducting interviews.
- Coordinate the Pre-First-Year Summer Program, including curriculum, faculty, housing, and student registration.
- Develop and deliver the College Success non-credit seminar using the SLU Thrives framework.
- Serve as an academic advisor to an assigned caseload of continuing students, monitoring progress and coordinating support services.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and training of peer mentors and student workers.
- Assist with the collection and review of financial eligibility documentation and support student financial aid renewal.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, higher education administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in student support, advising, counseling, or financial aid.
- Knowledge of New York State HEOP guidelines and financial aid processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience coordinating summer bridge or pre-college programs.
- Experience with program assessment, data-informed decision-making, and retention strategies.
- Experience with data systems such as Starfish or Slate.
