About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to a team of managers and community organizers to ensure efficient service delivery
- Oversee the planning and implementation of community-driven initiatives, workshops, and neighborhood revitalization activities
- Develop programs focused on community organizing, leadership development, and community outreach
- Manage local community outreach efforts, including door-knocking and telephone campaigns
- Collaborate with the Program Director to execute the department's mission, vision, and programmatic strategies
- Foster strong relationships with staff, HCZ leadership, and local community stakeholders
- Ensure all program data and information are accurately tracked and reported
- Manage stipends and establish partnerships with local businesses to serve as program vendors
- Recruit and manage local volunteers for community advisory boards and resident meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of direct supervisory and program management experience in community building, organizing, or advocacy
- Proven experience with budget management, including cost analysis and spending proposals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and Outlook
- Experience working with community groups and community-based organizations
- Familiarity with the Harlem community and the challenges prevalent in underserved communities of color
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays
- Experience with Salesforce or other data management systems is strongly preferred
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, French, or English are a plus
