Assistant Director for Athletic Communications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for external communications for the Department of Athletics
• Manage official athletic websites and social media channels
• Create and edit video and graphic content for departmental use
• Perform in-game management duties at press and scorer’s tables
• Handle statistical coverage and maintain historical records
• Oversee and supervise student workers
• Collaborate with contracted photographers and webcasting producers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 2-4 years of experience in an intercollegiate sports information office or athletic department setting
• Strong writing and editorial skills
• Working knowledge of desktop publishing
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in collegiate athletic communications
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and video production
• Experience with Statcrew or NLS/NCAA statistical software
• Background in Communications or Sports Management
