Assistant Director, Financial Aid

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of five financial aid counselors, providing ongoing training, guidance, and performance oversight.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for transfer students, managing their financial aid award packages and processing appeals.
• Oversee the undergraduate main campus merit appeal process, including coordinating a cross-functional merit appeal committee.
• Administer multiple internal scholarship programs, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and timely award processing.
• Advise students and families on university financial aid policies, application requirements, and awarding processes.
• Review CSS Profiles and complete federal verification processes to ensure accurate financial aid delivery.
• Represent the university at FAFSA filing events and financial aid information sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Progressive experience in financial aid, including direct staff supervision experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to analyze complex data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Experience using PeopleSoft.
