About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for facility support services, campus operations, and property management across a 222-acre research campus.
- Direct daily operations for custodial services, fleet management, warehouse operations, and inventory control.
- Manage the facility work order system and coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and infrastructure support.
- Serve as the agency property manager, overseeing all tangible non-consumable moveable property.
- Collaborate with departmental leadership on budget development, financial planning, and expenditure monitoring.
- Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, and procurement documentation for contracted services and major projects.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure compliance with contract requirements and safety standards.
- Supervise, recruit, train, and manage the performance of facility operations staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in facilities operations, maintenance management, or campus support services.
- Proven supervisory and staff management experience.
- Experience managing operations in complex, multi-building environments (e.g., higher education, healthcare, or research).
- Experience overseeing operational budgets, procurement processes, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of public procurement laws or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
