About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for facility support services, campus operations, and property management across a 222-acre research campus.
  • Direct daily operations for custodial services, fleet management, warehouse operations, and inventory control.
  • Manage the facility work order system and coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and infrastructure support.
  • Serve as the agency property manager, overseeing all tangible non-consumable moveable property.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership on budget development, financial planning, and expenditure monitoring.
  • Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, and procurement documentation for contracted services and major projects.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure compliance with contract requirements and safety standards.
  • Supervise, recruit, train, and manage the performance of facility operations staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in facilities operations, maintenance management, or campus support services.
  • Proven supervisory and staff management experience.
  • Experience managing operations in complex, multi-building environments (e.g., higher education, healthcare, or research).
  • Experience overseeing operational budgets, procurement processes, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of public procurement laws or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
