Assistant Director, Career Development

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive career coaching to students on major selection, internship search strategies, job search techniques, and interviewing skills.
• Assist students with resume and cover letter preparation, networking, alumni engagement, and graduate school processes.
• Present workshops and group meetings to support student career development.
• Support experiential learning preparation, competency assessment, and programming.
• Develop and review Career Community content and collaborate with faculty across campus.
• Partner with the Director, Strategic Projects on data collection, annual reports, and student surveys.
• Contribute to Gateway Career Center programs, including the Leopard Launch planning team and health professions mock interviews.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience working specifically with undergraduate college students.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for engaging with students, faculty, alumni, and employers.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of career counseling techniques and theory.
• Experience using Handshake or other CRM systems.
