About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, financial, and operational leadership for the Rutgers Lindley G. Cook Youth Center for Outdoor Education.
  • Prepare, oversee, and implement the annual camp budget and coordinate expenditure disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies regarding procurement, payment, signatory authority, and donor gifts.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental protection and food safety requirements in coordination with onsite personnel.
  • Provide fiscal compliance guidance to statewide 4-H programs and monitor budget activity.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the strategic plan for the Rutgers 4-H Camp.
  • Serve as a liaison to the SEBS Business Office and assist with EIN-related reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative, financial, compliance, or operational roles within a complex organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule and availability for seasonal camp requirements outside normal business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a public university, Cooperative Extension system, or similar decentralized structure.
  • Familiarity with Rutgers University administrative systems and policies.
  • Experience supporting compliance related to donor-restricted funds, grants, or program funding.
  • Experience managing seasonal or temporary employees and multi-site programs.
