Assistant Designer

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and design footwear ranges across casual and dressy categories
• Identify key trends, shapes, and commercial styles for the global customer base
• Create mood and colour boards to predict seasonal trends
• Collaborate with buying teams to react to sales data and develop products
• Build relationships with suppliers and advise factories on construction, materials, and trims
• Adhere to the critical path to ensure timely product development
• Work with technical teams on initial fits and problem-solving

Requirements

• Previous footwear design experience for an aspirational brand or high street retailer
• Experience working with Far East, European, and UK suppliers
• Strong commercial understanding of the ASOS brand and customer
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe, CAD, PLM, and hand sketching
• Experience executing tech packs and sketches for footwear development
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage organization
• Willingness to travel internationally for supplier meetings and inspiration

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong presentation skills for sharing ideas with senior leadership
• Ability to identify product opportunities to drive brand growth
