About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage applications for research opportunities, essay prizes, and funding programs.
  • Administer research programs by cultivating faculty participation, facilitating mentor-mentee relationships, and advising students.
  • Develop and lead workshop programming and orientation sessions for undergraduate researchers.
  • Execute outreach strategies to increase awareness of research opportunities across campus and through social media.
  • Provide individual advising to students to help them identify research opportunities and prepare applications.
  • Build evidence-based recruitment and retention approaches for students from underrepresented groups.
  • Support administrative functions including database management, record-keeping, and program impact assessment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4-6 years of university administration, teaching, or advising experience with an emphasis on student programming.
  • Demonstrated understanding of research methodologies and scholarly practices across multiple disciplines.
  • Proven experience organizing events, workshops, and group programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends for program events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in any discipline.
  • Experience reviewing research funding proposals and making allocation decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with first-generation college students and underserved populations.
  • Proficiency with software platforms, databases, and application management systems.
  • Experience working with budgets, financial reports, and foundations.
