About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the University’s accountability, community standards, conflict resolution, and restorative practices efforts.
- Oversee the administration, assessment, and continuous improvement of the student conduct system, including formal and informal resolution pathways.
- Lead restorative and alternative resolution initiatives, such as facilitated dialogue, mediation, and restorative conferencing.
- Supervise professional staff and hearing bodies while developing policies aligned with federal law and professional standards.
- Collaborate with campus partners to support student well-being, risk management, and behavioral intervention.
- Conduct complex investigations involving student organizations, behavioral concerns, and interpersonal conflict.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, JD, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in student conduct administration or a related student affairs area.
- Experience administering equitable student conduct processes in a higher education setting.
- Experience conducting complex investigations and facilitating alternative conflict resolution (mediation, restorative conferencing, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of FERPA, the Clery Act, Title IX, and other relevant federal and state regulations.
- Experience supervising professional staff or graduate assistants.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training in mediation, restorative justice, or conflict coaching.
- Experience leading restorative justice initiatives in higher education.
- Knowledge of CAS Standards and ASCA Knowledge & Skills competencies.
- Experience collaborating with Behavioral Intervention Teams or threat assessment teams.
- Experience working within mission-driven or faith-based institutions.
