About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership and oversight for undergraduate and graduate programs within the School of Health Professions.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including faculty workload, course coverage, student enrollment, and data management.
- Plan student recruitment, admission, progression, retention, and advisement activities in collaboration with faculty.
- Assist the Dean in the recruitment and selection of faculty and staff.
- Advise and counsel students and mediate conflicts between students and faculty.
- Assume the responsibilities of the School in the Dean's absence.
- Manage special projects as defined by the Dean, such as research initiatives.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in an allied health profession (e.g., social work, psychology) or a doctorate in a related field plus a master's degree in an allied health profession.
- 5-8 years of related professional experience with demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
- Proven administrative and teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program.
- Working knowledge of allied health professions curricula and general accreditation standards.
- Credentials at the rank of at least Assistant Professor.
- New York State license, if applicable to the field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in writing grant proposals and conducting research.
- Excellent skills in operations, accountability, supervision, and written/oral communication.
