About the role
Responsibilities
- Represent the City of New York in affirmative and defensive civil litigation
- Draft motions, conduct depositions, manage discovery, and negotiate settlements
- Appear in court and at depositions as needed
- Support juvenile delinquency proceedings and other legal matters handled by the Law Department
Requirements
- Graduate of an ABA-approved law school
- Admitted to practice in New York State or in the process of admission
- Commitment to public service and litigation work
- Interest in the division’s subject matter
- Federal court admission or eligibility for some divisions
