Assistant Cook

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food across various stations
• Control proper storage of products and maintain portion control to reduce waste
• Maintain cleanliness of refrigeration, storage, and working areas to comply with regulations
• Inspect and select high-quality fresh produce, meats, and other food products
• Perform routine cleaning tasks and ensure floors are dry to prevent accidents
• Work closely with front of house staff, kitchen personnel, and stewards

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of hotel or restaurant work experience
• Basic cooking knowledge and understanding of food fundamentals
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow safety, sanitation, and food handling standards
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move goods up to 200lbs on a continuous schedule
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in extreme temperature ranges
• Effective oral communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Culinary schooling or related apprenticeship
