Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage in-house accounting operations including Billing, G/L, and revenue recognition
• Manage verifier staff and ensure high billing accuracy
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and Operating Reviews
• Coordinate reporting requirements for company management and outside lenders/investors
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Direct the month-end and year-end close process
• Participate in project teams to implement new billing systems
• Develop and document billing processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls
• Work with external public accountants and regulatory representatives during audits
• Assist with accounting systems conversion to Great Plains

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in a patient financial services environment preferred
• Experience at a large accounting firm preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare (CMS), Medicaid, and Insurance payer processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or MBA
• Knowledge of QuickBooks
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar systems
• Knowledge of 3rd party electronic medical records
