Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting expertise on business acquisitions (ASC 805) and debt modifications.
• Lead the implementation of new businesses into a consolidated accounting system and manage financial data integration.
• Prepare and review monthly consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable function, including managing the AP Manager and optimizing scalable workflows within NetSuite.
• Coordinate the annual audit process and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Lead special projects related to system improvements, process optimizations, and new accounting standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of experience in public accounting (preferably Big 4 or national firm).
• Proven experience with business acquisitions, debt modifications, and consolidation accounting.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, including hands-on implementation or optimization experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience managing financial reports for senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• Prior experience working in a publicly traded company or with publicly traded clients.
