Assistant Commissioner, Mass Engagement

Responsibilities

• Oversee an active outreach and engagement team
• Develop and implement strategic outreach and engagement plans
• Serve as the primary bridge to diverse constituencies including residents, elected officials, and community organizations
• Maintain a visible presence at community events, town halls, and public forums
• Support agency during critical emergency response efforts and communications
• Create systems to capture and analyze stakeholder feedback to inform policy
• Oversee engagement initiatives such as trainings, site visits, and multilingual campaigns
• Draft and edit agency-wide public facing correspondence and messaging
• Provide oversight for vendor management, including contracts, budgets, and proposals
• Lead cross-unit projects and manage specialized analysts and coordinators

Requirements

• Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience (including 18 months in a managerial/executive capacity)
• OR Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience (including 18 months in a managerial/executive capacity)
• OR High school diploma plus 9 years of relevant experience (including 18 months in a managerial/executive capacity)
