Assistant Coach, Women's Ice Hockey

Responsibilities

• Coach the technical and tactical aspects of ice hockey during practices and competitions
• Recruit prospective student-athletes in compliance with Middlebury, NESCAC, and NCAA regulations
• Assist the head coach with daily practice planning and competition preparation, including opponent scouting and reports
• Support program administration, including travel planning, equipment purchasing, and budgeting
• Mentor student-athletes to support their athletic, academic, and personal development
• Assist in delivering programming related to mental health, DEI, leadership, and sexual violence prevention
• Perform additional duties as assigned, such as event management or teaching Physical Education classes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred)
• Collegiate playing or coaching experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse range of constituents
• Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues
• Proficiency in organizational tasks, computer skills, and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
